Trial proceedings in the administrative case of Viciebsk oppositionist waiting for the public expression of his love for the Belarusian culture. An event dedicated to the 86th anniversary of Vladimir Karatkevich, he came to the national Belarusian flag that in the judgment of law enforcement is against the law.
November 29 Member BPF Christopher Zhelyapau summoned to the Oktyabrsky district police department for an explanation of the circumstances associated with its participation in the event, which took place three days earlier. Explanations took captain Sergei Veraksa known to our readers on the administrative case involving three candidates, who sang the hymn "Mighty God" during the last election campaign.
According to our correspondent Christopher Zhelyapau after a meeting with the police department, as a result of this meeting it was drawn up. Mr. Christopher is charged with participation in an unsanctioned picket, which is an offense in accordance with Paragraph 1 of Article 23:34 of the Administrative Code of the country.
It turned out that Sergey Veraksa own eyes have seen everything that happened during a celebration at the monument to Vladimir Karatkevich. I do not just seen but photographed the participants, although of the minutes attached information and photographs taken from the website of "Charter 97".
Christopher Zhelyapau questioned why of the 16 people who attended the estimated policeman near the monument, participation in an unsanctioned picket imputed only to him? It turned out, the fact is that of all the participants when he was with the flag. So, the main component of the offense is not a part in the event, and the presence of the flag in his hands. According to representatives of the police department, picking up the first of the former national flag, Christopher Zhelyapau publicly demonstrated his social and political position, which violated the law.

– Take a look into the administrative code, and you will not find mention of the fact that it is impossible to go to the national symbol of Belarus. I have come to honor the memory of the great Belarusian writer Vladimir Karatkevich. We do this yearly. Thus, I expressed my love for the independence of Belarus, its historical tradition, culture and its creator Vladimir Karatkevich.
Well, I say, if, by your logic, I express my position, why you do not use these measures in respect of those who, for various reasons waving Russian tricolor in Viciebsk? Why did not these protocols and is accountable not to attract? What I was told that the police about such cases do not know. But I know people who have turned to law enforcement agencies. But their appeals were ignored, and no proceedings were not conducted. So, one who expresses love towards Belarus, deserves punishment, and who love to Russia – are entitled to it.
Selective focus of law enforcement agencies to the supporters of various social and political views shows that the government focused exclusively struggling with representatives of the national democratic movement of the country. Grappling with displays showcasing the native character of the national political identity than are contributing to strengthening the country's pro-Russian sentiment and sympathy.
