People with disabilities should study together with normal children in ordinary schools. This convinced Yulia Ardynova visually impaired.
– I am grateful to my mother for what she gave me a special school, I studied in normal – school #11 of Navapołacak. My vision problems do not create any barrier in communicating with children. On the contrary, classmates, knowing that I almost do not see help than they could – said Julia. She believes that it is in a normal school education helped her to better adapt to society. Five years ago she married a blind Viciebsk resident and now lives in the regional center. The company "Elect" PA "BelTIZ" Julia Ardynova directs a circle of arts and crafts.
Today there is a transition to inclusive education. This is the broader process of integration implies equal access to education for all children and adapting education to the needs of each student. That is not the child must adjust to the school environment and the educational establishment to the needs of each individual student.
– In Viciebsk region for the second year successfully implemented the republican project on testing of inclusive education. It includes school #46 of Viciebsk, Navapołacak school #8 and Viciebsk Regional Center of Correction and Development Training and Rehabilitation, – said the first deputy chief of the Department of Education Leonid Stepanov executive committee.
On the basis of the Viciebsk regional school #46 passed the event for inclusion: a meeting, a roundtable with educators, psychologists, an exhibition, workshops and a concert program.
– Undoubtedly, teachers and other education professionals in transition need further training and specialized training, as well as the methodological and teaching support. You also need to combat stereotypes of society as a whole with respect to inclusion, – Leonid said.
Sometimes parents of children with whom the boys study together, require special support, the impression that this may delay the development of their own offspring. However, integrated education, experience shows otherwise. Progress healthy children does not fall, and often their evaluation are higher in terms of inclusive education than in a normal school.
– First of all, teachers, psychologists, parents need to reconsider and rebuild the consciousness towards an inclusive school, and only then work together to overcome other barriers: legal, psychological, logistical, human and other, – noted the director of the regional center of Correction and Development Training Marina Fedorova and rehabilitation.
One of the objectives of education institutions is to come out of their walls graduates not only with luggage knowledge. Their main quality should be the tolerance, which is formed in the process of real communication of all children.
