April 28 Vitsebsk activists planned a pounding on the edge of the forest near the village of Chajsy in the Vitebsk region. CCP BPF activist Jan Dzyarzhautsau and his supporters believe that in these places there were executions of victims of Stalinist repression. In particular, the executions that took place here in 1930, remembered by local residents.
It is up to them, Mr. Dzyarzhautsau heard in the forest lie unburied human remains. In November last year the "Vitebsk Kurapaty" learned society - when activists and journalists got in the forest and saw a large pit with human bones and skulls.
The same day, several activists wrote appeals to the Investigation Committee, the police and the prosecutor's office to do a background check. After that, a few found skulls and other remains were taken for examination - first in Vitebsk, then in Minsk.
In the place where they found the remains Dzyarzhautsau Yang and his companions set several crosses. After all, whoever were the people who died here, they are worthy of the memory of posterity. And now when the activists came to equip a makeshift memorial that came across the pit in which from the sand sticking dozens of bones - as if people are buried in rows, one above the other. Another part of the human bones was composed separately - someone has dug them out of the ground and covered with fir branches, says Jan Dzyarzhautsau:
"The very pit seven meters by two and a half and one and a half meters deep. It seems that in this pit were buried 50 people will be able to tell only the truth, researchers, investigators, if they will be here to dig and dig up the remains. We only notice them now, since they had already been dug up, covered with leaves and fir paws and collected a handful."
Activists do not undertake to say who could have done it. Maybe it was the "black diggers". But they were not interested in the bones, and so it is unclear why they were so neatly put in a separate place. Jan Dzyarzhautsau not exclude that there might work and some special services. But they have not taken any remains for any research or fragments of clothing and footwear, which also is in the pits. In the shoe factory survived the stigma - 1936 th, 1937 years, not later. So, it is hardly necessary to assume that in this forest buried the victims of the Great Patriotic War. And the conclusion to which once again came to Vitebsk activists - again about Stalin's executions. Accordingly, they want to ensure that in the forest near the village of Chajsy was conducted the most thorough checks, says Mr. Dzyarzhautsau:
"Today, we will write a statement to the Investigative Committee, sign all those present who saw it. But still our request so nothing is known. Two months ago, we were told that check vozobnovvlena and we will report the results of the examination of the remains of those who are now on the study in Minsk."
Activists say they are ready to do everything to find the truth about these human remains, and the tragic events, which were tangible evidence of a skull with bullet holes. Residents of nearby villages have already tried to get the truth - even in the 1990s, they turned to a local village council, the police and the Orthodox priest to finally restore order and that no human remains were scattered in the forest. The village council had promised to "deal", but the bones and skulls can still be found in this forest. For the first time they actually came across the "black diggers", but to bury the executed people here in the Christian tradition still nobody cared.
It was not until last autumn, while in the forest near the village of Chajsy does not appear the first consecrated cross and held the first memorial service. Now, removing debris around a makeshift mass grave and memorial crosses, of which there are five, Vitebsk activists again prayed for the souls of those who died in the forest.
