4 April meeting of citizens to discuss recent changes in labor legislation, was organized by the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) – BSDP(H). Experts in the field of labor law, the trade union movement and psychology familiarized participants with the specifics of today's labor relations in Belarus.

Among other things, discussed the legal aspects and implications of the decree №5 "On strengthening the requirements for managers and employees of organizations". Among the innovations Decree №5 note the following: 1) deprivation of premium surcharges Incentive for several months; 2) changing the working conditions for seven days; 3) disciplinary action at the request of local authorities.

According to the stories of people, all of the above de facto practiced before, but now this practice in the relations between workers and managers of enterprises and organizations legalized. Decree basically summarized all available in a variety of legal grounds for the dismissal of workers and gave them the status of discrediting the reasons for dismissal. Such dismissal now may complicate subsequent device to work, with more difficulties arise from executives.

Expert in the field of trade union protection workers Nina Turchina, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union (BNP) working JSC "Naftan", spoke about the practical experience of the trade union to protect the interests of workers. According to her, democratic trade unions in Belarus are few due to pressure at work superiors, which prevent the entry of workers in these unions. And the old Soviet trade unions federations in which they are driving workers openly take the side of Directors. But even in such conditions, democratic trade unions are able to defend the interests of their members. In a democratic union BNP may consist only workers and unacceptable part superiors that there was no conflict of interest.

Part of the meeting held a psychologist who gave practical skills of psychological protection from stressful situations in labor relations with the heads of the employee. Psychological stress at work significantly complicate life, and with this you should be able to fight. Exercises conducted with participants meeting in the future to help the latter in their daily lives and in communication with the authorities.

At the seminar were distributed printed materials by decree №5, issued by BSDP(H), a trade newsletter of the Free Trade Union of Workers of Polotsk plant "Fiberglass" and other printed materials.
