According to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the volume of emissions into the atmosphere last year compared with 2013 increased by 3.9% and amounted to 462.8 thousand tons.
The increase in emissions of pollutants into the air from stationary sources in comparison with the previous year mentioned in the Brest region (32.1%), Hrodna - by 10.5%, Minsk - 5% and Mahiliou - 3.8%.
In contrast, the reduction of emissions compared with the previous year recorded in Minsk (6.5%), Viciebsk region (3.1%), Homel region (1%).
The largest share of emissions from stationary sources in the total emissions in the country still falls on the organization of Viciebsk and Homiel regions - and 22% (respectively 103 and 102 thousand tons), the lowest - in the organization of Minsk - 5% (23 thousand tons ). Organization of the Minsk region in total emissions is 16% (74,000 tons), Hrodna - 13% (59,000 tons), Brest and Mahiliou region - 11% (respectively 52 and 50 thousand tons).
