The festive day began a theatrical rally at fraternal cemetery. Professional presenters, orchestra invited projecting military with machine guns – all as expected. Statement by the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Irina Novikova was pretty pathetic and does not go beyond the usual Soviet stamps. Keynote speech Mrs. Novikova: "We will bear the full responsibility for the future of the region and the country as a whole – and all will be well."
She stressed the importance of preserving the memory of those who fought and restored after the war economy, and called for today's generation to save the world conquered predecessors and pass the truth about war youth. He stated that the independence of Belarus was the result of their victory and hard work. Mentioned "nationwide lider" and the "fifth All-Belarusian Assembly", and truths, it sounded: "everything depends on us", "commitment of the people can work wonders."
While this took place the official part of the event at the memorial cemetery, the people whiled away the time in different areas of the park: hiding from the July heat in the shade of the lime trees in the shadow of five-story building on the opposite from the park side of the street Korotkin, I wandered through the "City of Masters". Everyone here has led his own private goal or interest: who was waiting the hour of triumph, to walk in a festive column, someone, vice-versa, came to watch their friends, favorite child, or for new emotions.
After the district administration has taken its place in the human crowd, in front of the statue of Lenin, came to the area dressed in white outfits drummer – and the procession began. With songs, dances with or without them walking to the local community representatives of enterprises of the district, folk groups, athletes, honors graduates, young families with children ... We passed in front of people and brand new appliances yes Belarusian-made tractors. The helicopter, which suddenly appeared in the sky, and for a moment distracted attention of the audience, making a circle, landed in the district stadium.
As usual, we hit the children. Struck by his talent, ability, enthusiasm and passion. But we must not delude ourselves with illusions, soon their talents a little that remains. Twisted them in its own way local ideologues or fully take advantage of the neighboring state, where daring Šumilina residents usually go for higher wages and a more prosperous life.
But while moving in this theatrical procession of local people who did not leave me a painful feeling – all this already, but it was much simpler ... But then Lenin was concrete, not metal, and this column was then that I, not today young people. However, the district administration stood then to the chief of all the ragamuffins not face and ass.
