Five areas of Viciebsk hit the list of the main project sites that will implement activities that involve the introduction of approaches geographically-oriented development (top), and to carry out primary contest local UNDP initiatives. Thirty of pilot projects approved by the Coordinating Council of the EU / UNDP promote local development in Belarus.
Viciebsk region is represented by the following areas:
– Dokšycy,
– Połacak,
– Hłybokaje,
– Tałačyn,
– Brasłaŭ.
The signing of these memoranda with the leadership of the local executive committee has already taken place. The project itself, as the action of the documents ends July 1, 2018. The beginning of the project was initiated in December last year.
As for the other regions of Belarus, in each of five selected areas. Overall – 30.
The selection of three dozen of the best held on the basis of ratings that were assigned in accordance with specific criteria. Thus, among the criteria have been identified, such as the presence of initiative groups and leaders in the field; the involvement of civil society, local business and the local population in the dialogue; quality initiatives; availability of the necessary resources in order to participate in the project, and others.
In each of the selected areas will be carried out large-scale work on the development of local initiatives, which will be engaged in the planning and will top the unifying element for the authorities, NGOs and businesses on the development of the main objectives in the development of the regions.
Members of local communities in the pilot areas will be able to become parties to the activities and trips to EU member states, in which they will study the experience in the field of sustainable regional development.
In addition, in all 30 districts organize the main competition of local initiatives, where each region-lucky, including the Viciebsk region and regions, have an opportunity to obtain the amount to 70 thousand euros.
