April 21 in Viciebsk Art pub "Torvald" held a public lecture one of the authors of the capital of the anthology "Urban tactics", the candidate of cultural science Alexei Kryvalap. The lecture, entitled "Green City" was dedicated to urbanistic outlook and urban problems.
Before giving the floor to Alexei Kryvalap founder almanac Zmicier Gavrusik made a small preview of the next issue of "urban tactics", dedicated to Viciebsk. Materials Viciebsk numbers have already been prepared, and now only need to wait for its release and the presentation to be held in the northern capital on 21 May.
Public lectures, a practice which in recent years gradually expanding – a phenomenon quite positive and positive in all respects. But most importantly, in contrast to the Soviet heritage, they are full of the lecture discussion energy, which requires participants to this event mandatory communication with the lecturer. Requires a personal response to the expressed ideas of the author, takes the listener from a passive state to an active interview.
Revealing their understanding of the concept of "green cities" Alexei Krivolap managed not only fast enough to make the audience with their interlocutors, but also to show the complexity of urban sometimes conflicting relations. Relationship, about which people do not usually think, but who either harmonize urban lifestyle, or, conversely, destroy it.
Cities, as the artificial formation, which has recently become the main points of civilization crisis (pollution, excessive consumption of non-renewable resources, and so on. D.), Require its special responsibility for the evolution of the level of the inhabitants of the urban space. In these circumstances, the concept of a "green city" of today requires abandoning the irrational consumerism and confession of the progressive ideas of sustainable development. Learning from new approaches is not only necessary to ensure that the present level of human functioning, but also to maintain a harmonized urban environment for the future.
Included in the discussion, Viciebsk residents give examples of desharmonization of urban space, which occurred as a result of ignoring the local authorities citizens opinions. This destruction of historic buildings; this reconstructed Victory Square, resulting in permanently disappeared settled layer of urban existence; and it involves the construction of new building of Sofia, which will change beyond recognition the historical center of the city, depriving it of so-needed green space.
Unpleasant aftertaste left more aggressive attitude to the speaker of one of the trainees, to provide "public figure."
