The famous "Bukvar" by Spiridon Sobol 1631 edition was presented to all Belarusians on Friday, October 10, in Orsha, where the week-long festival ended with "Orthodox Belarus." "Bukvar" was published in the well-known Kutein Publishing.
Over a complete facsimile reproduction of this publication for a long time worked Belarusian Exarchate. And employees of the National Academy of Sciences have developed a special comment on "Bukvar", which was explained to all interested, what is its value, and what are its features. External representation in Orsha "Bukvar" is fully consistent with the original: it's small - about the size of a palm, a leather-bound, and is made on special paper.
The museum complex history and culture of Orsha edge long been eyeing the "Bukvar" Sable. Moreover, the similarity of this publication have been deposited in the fund, but they though they were similar to the same "ABC", but were merely a hoax, not an exact copy of it, now presented.
"Bukvar" is the most well-known since ancient times Orsha book. His full name read: "Букваръ сирѣчъ, начало учєніѧ дѣтем начинающим чтєнію извыкати. В Кутєйнѣ изωбраӡисѧ. В тvпографіи Спиридона Соболѧ". The book's title page edges framed ornament.
"Bukvar" Sable is a true textbook on which our ancestors learned to read and write. It was part of the Old Slavonic alphabet, beautifully printed in the normal and reverse order, by "Bukvar" his readers learn the correct formulation of stress, of punctuation, the declension of nouns and adjectives. And for the most "advanced" there were set even the basics of art of versification. On the first and last pages of "Bukvar" were printed Orthodox prayers - those with which, according to its creators, must begin and end with what should every teaching. In Kucein "Bukvar" was about 80 pages.
Exhibiting "Bukvar" XVII century for our contemporaries - not the first project, jointly organized exarchate, NASB and international charitable foundation "Family - Unity - fatherland." Earlier, thanks to their joint efforts Belarusians could see Polotsk Gospel and Slutsk Gospel and Life of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk.
Kucein printing house, which was once printed "Bukvar", worked near Orsha - it is this fact that explains the special interest orshantsev to this relic. However, it turned out that through the centuries has survived only one copy of the "Bukvar", and it is not stored in Belarus and the National Museum in Lviv (Ukraine). For several years, Belarusians and Ukrainians were negotiating about the possibility to get photocopies of the pages and create its full original at home. It worked!
