In the evening of March 6 at Krasnoarmeyskaya, 13 democratic activists gathered to discuss current issues. The "March of the Non-Monkeys", planned in Vorša on March 12, was also discussed. During the discussion, policemen came into the house and asked "to talk to the person in charge of the premises." Igor Kazmerchak, editor of the site orsha.eu, talked to the police. After some time, the representatives of the Investigative Committee arrived in the house with a resolution to conduct a search.
The resolution on the search was signed by the district prosecutor Belousov Igor Vyacheslavovich. The decree was written approximately the following: a 5-ruble counterfeit banknote was found in one of the banks in Komsomolskaya Street, and information was received that on Krasnoarmeyskaya, 13 there was a copy technique. For some reason, the investigators had some kind of connection between the two messages and decided to search the wrong copying centers and private printers that are closer to Komsomolskaya Street, and went exactly to the Krasnoarmeyskaya Street.
During the search, those present were asked to leave the premises, but they were not allowed to go home for a long time. In particular, the Vorša poetess Yevgenia Kozlova separately addressed the police with a request to release her, citing her state of health. The militiamen did not let her go, but they said that they would call for an ambulance when she suddenly became ill.
As a result of the search, no fakes were found, naturally. But all computer and copying equipment was withdrawn for examination. They took even paint for the printer.
At the moment, Igor Kazmerchak, editor of orsha.eu, chairman of the Źviaz youth public association and a member of the Vorša coalition of democratic forces, is responsible for the premises belonging to the local activist Alesya Shutov, who passed away last year. Two days before Igor was detained at the border, when he was returning from Poland from a week-long trip, and conducted a personal search, and then the customs officers verbally explained that "the search is not their initiative".
Both the one and the searches the activist associates with the protest action against Decree No. 3 on parasitism, which is planned in Vorša on March 12. This protest should be the first public mass action in the city over the past 16 years.
The current search is the first for the last 7 years of an act of serious pressure on democratic activists of Vorša. And seven years ago, this pressure occurred in the form of a search by Igor Kazmerchak, but then it was a private apartment. Then, Igor's personal computer was also "sent for examination".
