According to the Supreme Court, 22 December 2013 at about 22:00 the accused while intoxicated, drove personal technically good vehicle "Volkswagen Passat" moving along the left lane carriageway Gorky Street in Vitebsk at a rate that does not was safe for traffic. Approaching the tram stopping points, while having the opportunity to see a minor pedestrian born in 2006, emerging from the tram, and at a distance sufficient to stop them managed to place the vehicle collision, the driver measures to reduce speed and stop the vehicle has not accepted, although was obliged to do, and continued to move. As a result, the front part of the car driver hit a child who came out of the front door and the tram crossing the roadway. On the basis of Part 4 of Art. 317 CC driver was sentenced to seven years imprisonment with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the management of vehicles, for a period of five years. Sentencing has not entered into force, may be appealed and protested in Vitebsk regional court.
