From 6 to 8 January in Viciebsk Red Cross has organized the work of heating items to needy persons, residents and visitors alike.
The mobile heating points that have worked on the Victory Square and near the Smolensk market, anyone could get warm in the tents, and with the help of hot tea. Volunteers organization worked for three days from 10 to 18 hours. The decision on the heating points was due to a sharp decrease in temperature and the increased possibility of frostbite.
Among the volunteers were working and the local medical university students, who are familiar with the rules of conduct of citizens in the conditions of extreme temperatures. In addition, as required, they would be able to help with first aid. Among future physicians rather exotic looking students from sub-Saharan Sri Lanka, not fearing the Belarusian frost.
Next to the tent of the Red Cross have set up my tent and the military. In conditions of severe frosts, which are particularly rampant on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day, an opportunity to warm up with pleasure benefited and random passers-by and visitors of the city ice rink, and the celebrating crowd.
For three days the services of heating points, located in the central square, took advantage of a few hundred Viciebsk residents.
And if on Monday at Victory Square point heating is no longer functioning, the area of the Smolensk market, according to preliminary data, anyone can get warm even during the whole week.
