The event was organized by the Catholic charitable organization "Caritas" in the parish of the Holy Trinity. October 22 brought together people with disabilities, their parents, guardians, social workers from both the Hłybokaje, and with all of the Vitebsk region (Šarkoŭščyna, Ušačy, Lepiel, Pastavy, Miory, Brasłaŭ, Łunačarskaje, Pietrunova).
According to the head of the parish "Caritas" in Hłybokaje Gennady Bervechonok the purpose of the action – to draw public attention to the problems of people with disabilities. In our country there is still a trend that got us in the legacy of the Soviet era, when people with disabilities were hidden from the public, so people do not notice, and there is a certain indifference to the problems of these people in society.
Started action in the Church of the Holy Trinity. event participants were welcomed by the parish priest Nicholas T.. The participants read together the prayer "Our Father" and moved to the city House of Culture, where he held the bulk of the program.
In the round hall of Culture House for people with disabilities sweet table was prepared. Once refreshed, guests, volunteers "Caritas" began entertaining program. Participants were waiting games, competitions, dancing. And parents, guardians, priests, social workers gathered at this time on a round table, which discussed the problems faced by people with disabilities in our society, and ways to solve them.
A feature of the present action was the presence of her guests from France. They came to the event by chance, because at this time have brought humanitarian aid from "Caritas" from France to Gluboksky Center territorial services of the population, yet they were very pleased that we were able to participate in it.
As the guest of France Pierre Tupen, they are very shocked by the warmth with which they welcomed, they are pleased that the assistance that they brought, will be useful for the people of Belarus. This assistance will not be a one-time, they are going to continue to cooperate with Belarus.
The priest Nicholas Tikhonovich pointed out that society should pay more attention to the problems and needs of people with disabilities, as a disabled person could be anyone of us. He noted that our government makes certain steps in this direction, but we must not rest on our laurels.
Social educators pay attention to this problem as a lack of a certain part of society understand that people with disabilities should be integrated into society. Often, teachers and parents are opposed to healthy children studying together with children with disabilities. This is wrong, because these children need to feel part of society. These contacts are useful for healthy children as they learn to perceive people with disabilities as part of society, to understand their needs better.
After dinner, which was held in the high school cafeteria #2, participants awaited concert prepared by a staff of the Department of Culture, and by the people with disabilities.
