As we reported earlier, on October 8 at the regional conference of "For Freedom" movement members from different regions of the north of Belarus elected a new coordinator for Viciebsk region. They became the Leonid Haravy from Haradok. On this occasion, our reporter met with Mr. Leonid.
Change of leader of the movement "For Freedom" Alyaksandr Milinkevich and your election as the leader of the movement in the Viciebsk region – is a kind of trend in the update management or something else?
In accordance with the Belarusian legislation, due to the fact that the regional organization of the movement is not registered in any case it is not necessary to speak about the activity on behalf of unregistered organization, since it entails criminal consequences. This is the first. Therefore, coordinator of the region – is a person who does not supervise and coordinate the activities of the members PCOR "Movement “For Freedom”", living in the Viciebsk region.
Secondly, it is not necessary to talk about trends in the update, when the age difference between me and my predecessor, Christopher Zhelyapau, only 10 years old. And on the field among the members of the movement is dominated by the elderly. And this is one of the questions in the way of a real renewal of our structure. In addition, if instead in Minsk Alyaksandr Milinkevich on a competitive basis, was elected Yuri Hubarevich, who is much younger than him, in the Viciebsk region there was only a small step to upgrade.
Ideally it would be nice to four years coordination moved not just to the younger members of the movement, and to him who his position, his deeds and devotion to freedom testified readiness to become head of the organization in the Viciebsk region.
What changes are expected to members of the movement "For Freedom" in the Viciebsk region due to the fact that the steering wheel got Leonid Haravy?
Changes in a person's life or organization occur only when there is a desire for this, supported by the work of everyday, gray. The terms of members of the movement in the Viciebsk region, formed in 2008-2010 – one of the largest in the country. However, Christopher Zhelyapau once pointed out that the organization does not have enough new faces, young and creative activities for the movement of ideas, for the sake of Belarus. At the meeting, members of the movement, I suggested that each participant involved in the organization of one person for three months. This can be done by moving the site, where there is a corresponding option "to join". If desired, one can submit an electronic application to join.
The primary objective of their believe the collection and analysis of proposals from member organizations on the activities of the movement in the Viciebsk region. For his part, I promise to contribute to the realization of individual ideas. As for my personal suggestions, I believe it will contribute to more active communication with the community of Viciebsk. Do you think, why the Belarusians do not take freedom as an absolute value?
The question is not entirely correct. If you and I, along with several thousand citizens of the country who are involved in political life for the freedom of Belarus, feel Freedom absolute value, it can not be said that the Belarusians do not take freedom as an absolute value. Even according to sociological studies 26-30% of Belarusian citizens want to dominated the democratic principles in the country, including the rule of human rights, freedom of speech, free elections ... Another thing is that voters only politician to make up 40-45% of the citizens who are not wish to decide their own destiny in free elections, and hope for state subsidies, are paternalistic mentality.
The problem primarily is to everyday, gray work get 50% + 1 vote in the election. This requires the inclusion of representatives of electoral commissions of alternative candidates and vote count on a "three E": Each newsletter sees Each member of the committee and sees Each observer. This is done in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, but not done in a European Belarus. Then it will be possible to say exactly how many Belarusians voted for the Freedom ideas. If the majority of people about freedom and does not think in today's Belarus, whether the movement is with the same name at least some political perspective?
Most of the population does not think not only of freedom, but do not think about the fate of Belarus, the fate of their children and their future. And it is not the name of the organization defines its political perspective, and effective humdrum, gray work with the country's electorate. Unfortunately, the opposition maintains its cycles of activity from one election campaign to another. In this largely to campaign effectively, confusion and uncoordinated.
Movement "For Freedom" is probably the only organization that has a clear pro-European orientation for Belarus, which is based on the ideas of independence and our Belarusian roots. We could not become an organization of unity after the 2006 campaign, but it seems now, our ideas and practices are quite attractive for young people. And, above all, in Minsk. It is enough to analyze the election campaign, our leaders Yuri Gubarevich and Ales Lahviniec. And on the report-election conference of youth from Minsk has been very active. Our movement is worthy passed during the transfer of power from Alexander Milinkevich to the younger generation of politicians.
