Elena Shabunya, Tatsyana Sevyarynets and George Stankevich came to the attention of police on July 27 for singing at the picket for collecting signatures. A member of the Oktyabrsky district police department interviewed activists, against whom were instituted administrative proceedings for alleged unauthorized street action. August 11 all three reported that business stopped. However, the regional police department decided that the police department has not considered any circumstances, and things resumed.
Recall the October police department officers conducted checks on the fact of singing during a joint picket to collect signatures for nomination of candidates, which was held on 27 July. Activists – the then candidates for participation in the elections, and today registered candidates – with a guitar sang a hymn "Mahutny Boža" near the Summer Amphitheatre. The bard George Stankevich also performed his own song "Ściah".
All three explained that the pickets for collection of signatures were carried out in the framework of the electoral law, which does not prohibit the various forms of activity, including the lyrics. According to the report the deputy chief of the public security police, Colonel Igor Skarinovich, they staged an unauthorized street action.
On errors in the report, as well as the inactivity of the police in the circumstances described by him created an activist of the BCD Elena Shabunya filed a complaint to the regional militia control. and follows from the replies received that the canceled August 11 administrative proceedings have resumed.
"It's stopped, not finding in our actions offense characteristics. But Colonel Skarinovich noticed them! And in the complaint, I noted that he had to stop our actions, if they considered an offense and not watch from the sidelines... The answer, signed by the chief of regional management of police Major General Viktor Senko says that our offense was "brief time" and that we "have dispersed themselves, so that the police intervention was not necessary". It is noted that factual errors in the report Skarinovich "non-essential", but the October police department conducted an inspection of "incomplete and without taking into account all the circumstances". Therefore, the administrative case on August 23 regional management decided to renew."
None of the three singers official papers for the restoration of the administrative case has not yet received. Meanwhile, Elena Shabunya, Tatyana Sevyarynets, and George Stankevich have registered as candidates for parliament. They have not ruled out the resumption of administrative prosecution – is intentional pressure and discredit.
