In a private house in Połacak 31 January a concert of George Stankevich. It was not just a concert, but also a presentation of the documentary film "I believe that I am happy," and a new collection of poems, "How to tear the rain". More than twenty spectators listened to the songs, poems and stories about the life of a unique man – a teacher, farmer, poet, bard, journalist and publisher in one person – George Stankevich from Biešankovičy district.
In recent years, the authorities of the Połacak district, which is controlled and the city more than once forbidden to hold concerts and meetings with Belarusian writers. For activities related to the Belarusian language, Belarusian culture, the urban area are not available. For more than a year, local authorities refused Połacak residents room for courses "Mova Nanova" the Belarusian language. Therefore, the Belarusian cultural events are now often held in private homes.
Before today's concert was a presentation of a documentary film about George Stankevich, who created a journalists Elena Stepanova and Aleksandr Zenkov. The poet and bard shown in their daily lives in a village near Biešankovičy. It was the third demonstration of the film in Belarus. The next day, a similar event took place in Vorša. The film focuses primarily on the Internet audience, duration of 14 minutes. In a short time it can be viewed on the website of the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
The audience of the concert were the Połacak adherents of Belarusian words and local reporters of the Belarusian Association of Journalists. In one room of 20 square meters of a private house with plenty of room for everyone to hear the songs of George Stankevich. The concert sounded the Belarusian language, the room walls are decorated with the coat of arms Pursuit Belarusian white-red-white flag of the free Belarus.
Warm applause greeted the participants of the concert apartment every song the bard. The audience asked George Stankevich read poems from his new book "How to tear the rain". George answered the questions of Połacak residents: how to write poems about the life of a farmer from Biešankovičy district, on the work of the teacher in the school, the release of the samizdat newspaper "Kryvinka", the relationship with local authorities.
