Back in the late 80s in Vorša was disclosed a place of mass executions during Stalin's repressions – Kabylackaja mountain. But it was already known that this is not only a place near Vorša.
Later, on the basis of the old-timers of evidence have been disclosed and a number of other places, but even then, the authorities did not contribute to any investigation of mass graves, or the preservation of the memory of victims of repression. One of such places could soon be threatened with destruction because of the construction of a new neighborhood.
To preserve the memory of the repressed and the public about September 17 community activists organized an excursion to the place, which is located at the street of Mahiloŭ. Nameless tract was revealed through the testimony of the old-timers. The researchers collected many memories of people who testified that there were shot mostly clergymen of various denominations as monks and priests; it is possible that here have found peace and some prominent church leaders of the time.
Firing pits are now on opposite sides of the street of Mahiloŭ. The first pit tour participants saw about two hundred meters from the petrol station on the right side in the direction of Mahiloŭ. On the left side of the highway near the stela "Vorša" turns into the forest overgrown forest road – it is out of town for her "black funnels". And around the road shootings holes (today they can be seen from the characteristic failure of the earth), one can count more than a dozen.
Find out in this part of the forest is possible and remains of crosses, which in Soviet times put the relatives of the victims. But today, they are of little that was left – in the second half of the 20th century were not uncommon for former members of the shootings NKVD teams appointed foresters in the forest, where there have been mass shootings. They were set to destroy the monuments and other memory markers on the graves.
Of course, this site requires further study and installation of the monument.
