At the exit of the highway Viciebsk-Lozna toward the crosses, installed in the forest community activists in the memory of the victims of Stalinist repression, Viciebsk Forestry has established a bar with a sign warning: "The Warning. It is under video surveillance".

Since the dirt road, near which there was a plaque, stretches from the road just a hundred meters and ends just before the memorial, then, obviously, a warning addressed to drivers who travel it to the cross, and not somewhere further into the forest – mushrooms, picnic , hunting, etc. So, State Forestry Institution "The Viciebsk Forestry" has decided to take care of the memorial, which before the authorities do not pay attention.

Homemade memorial at the perpetuation of victims of Stalinist repression 1930-50-ies appeared in the forest between the villages of the Palai and Varony in 2007 – the first cross was then set. With the passage of time has increased the number of crosses – now they are seven. In a large, metal, there is an inscription: "The victims of the totalitarian regime".

The memorial is symbolic. It is in this place, where there are crosses, shooting people in Stalin's time were not made. But as recently learned Viciebsk regional specialists, people en masse shot very close – a few hundred meters into the forest.
