By 2030, Brasłaŭ district should become the first climate neutral municipality in Belarus, said at a press conference in Minsk on June 6 chapter Dmitry Buronkin project.
According to him, the total budget of the project "Brasłaŭ district – the first climate-neutral municipality in Belarus", which is implemented by the Brasłaŭ District Executive Committee and the Center for Environmental Decisions with financial support from the EU amounted to 735 thousand euros.. Of these, the EU allocated 584 thousand. Euro. Project implementation period – September 2018.
The first steps towards ensuring that the district is cleaner, were made in 2014, when Brasłaŭ signed the International Covenant of Mayors, taking on the ambitious goal of reducing emissions by 20% by 2020, said Buronkin. Further activities in the district will be aimed at reducing its dependence on fossil fuels, increased use of energy efficiency and development of renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promotion of green transport.
One of the main objectives of the project – to reduce energy consumption in the housing sector by 15-20% on each activity separately, which will give energy savings of up to 2% of the total, said deputy chairman of the Brasłaŭ district executive committee Mikhail Plisko.
"From the total energy district to which spent a lot of money, it is a huge figure, – he explained. – For example, given that a single heating season a boiler on gas payment gives 6-7 billion rubles, a decrease of this amount by 1% even with the transition to cheaper fuel really saves money."
Also added Buronkin, project coordinators want to be actively involved in energy saving district population. Overall, the combined efforts will yield both economic and demonstration effect, and experience Brasłaŭ district will be offered for implementation in other regions of the country, he said.
During 2016 it is planned to carry out the first two events of practical implementation of the project: the replacement of the pipe in Brasłaŭ central city heating (1030 meters) to more energy-efficient and replacement of 5% of the urban lantern lighting LEDs.
Next, the project is planned to install heat exchangers in high-rise buildings are not connected to the central heating system, which will allow residents to reduce winter energy consumption for heating the water in boilers. They will be replaced old boilers central boiler, which run on the turf for use as fuel wood chips or straw. It is planned to install solar collectors on the kindergarten, public places – equipped with renewable energy, there will be a bike rental network ecological tourist route using electric transport will be developed, will open a public information center on energy efficiency. To save electricity for lighting public buildings and dwelling houses in them establish a sound and motion sensors.
