Because of bureaucratic delays and imperfections of the Belarusian human rights activist Mikhail laws Zhamchuzhny, detained in remand prison of Viciebsk №2, fail to achieve the purpose of the social pension, which he is supposed to reach retirement age.

August 14 Viciebsk human rights activist 60 years old, and according to the law he has the right to apply to the authorized state bodies for the purpose of his pension for old age. To exercise this right, Michael Zhamchuzhny addressed to the territorial department of social protection of the administration of the Oktyabrsky district of Viciebsk. However, the response of the state institutions that he has not received. This situation forced the Zhamchuzhny twice in August and September to address the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Viciebsk Oblast Executive Committee. Finally, in early October, a human rights activist received a long-awaited response from the chairman of the committee Alexandra Hristoforova.

The official said Zhemchuzhny shocking news: he cannot get the location of his pension under the law for at least three months, as the procedure was not started its execution. Thus, because of bureaucratic bungling and government officials concluded in time lost the opportunity to apply for a pension.

In order to protect their right to social security in old age, guaranteed by the Constitution, Michael I. has applied to the head of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection Marianna Shchetkina. In a statement, he raised the question of payment of social pension to him in connection with reaching retirement age.

A human rights activist told the minister that he has a continuous length of service since 1972 and is currently in prison, which does not allow him to draw on their own retirement. In this case, it cannot rely on help from relatives, because there is none. Based on these circumstances, Zhamchuzhny asks Mrs. Marianne to his pension has been assessed, and that the pension is transferred to his personal account at the prison where he will serve the sentence to.
