This is the fourth edition of the yearbook "Gray Book. Chronicle of Human Rights Violations in the Viciebsk region". In addition to the print edition, the authors have placed it on the Internet electronic version that can be downloaded by anyone.
As noted in the preface to its drafters, "during the July 2014 – June 2015 (just this time slot dedicated to release) the human rights situation in the Vitebsk region, as in the country as a whole has not changed significantly in comparison with the the same period. " However, compared with the release, which was published last year, the volume of books increased by half, which may indicate that the human rights in the region is likely to become still more likely to be violated.
The book is based on the materials posted on the websites of human rights, as well as articles published by other web resources. All materials are divided into twelve publications sections.
In addition to information about their own violations of human rights, both civil and political as well as social, economic and cultural, the compilers of the book also provides information on the monitoring of trials have reported civilian initiatives and actions cover the activities of human rights defenders to defend the public interest. A separate section is devoted to the appeals of the residents of Viciebsk region to the UN Committee on Human Rights.
