On the eve of the trial of Mikhail Zhamchuzhny, one of the founders of the human rights organization "Platform", Vitsebsk human rights activist Leanid Svetik received another letter from him. Michael gives details about the upcoming trial.
The letter says that the decision of the judge of the Vitebsk regional court Valentina buoys implies that the trial of the case is scheduled for June 1. The process is due to start at 10:00 in the premises of the Vitebsk regional court in closed session. Zhamchuzhny will appear before court personally, with the participation of defense.
Michael regrets that appointed him a judge is a woman. And he explains why: "From them (women judges – Ed.) A fair hearing is not expected". He also reports that the first two of the judges were appointed by men, but, according to the defendant, the judge refused to review the case after his materials.
About Michael I. reports the following: "In all other well: the mood, health and creative plans. Fight, of course, will – at full power. Is for what and for whom. Well, that one. Alone, I'm stronger. I will, if possible, to keep you informed."
"Judging by the writing and the words, what it says, a human rights activist Zhamchuzhny could not break a long investigation and being in prison," – said Leonid Svetik target letter.
His colleagues – human rights activists Michael advises to be cautious and circumspect in the performance of their public duties, "Take care of yourself and the people. Do not give in to provocations. Their methods are far from decency. Our strength lies in the mind and the word. And Will we win!"
Michael Zhamchuzhny at the end of his letter to Leonid Svetsik thanks all human rights defenders for their support and looks forward to a fruitful cooperation.
In turn, Vitsebsk human rights activists have taken the responsibility to monitor the upcoming trial and inform the public about all the procedural violations that are observed during the trial of Mikhail Zhamchuzhny.
