Human Rights Committee, the UN has registered a complaint with the Vitebsk coordinator organizing committee of the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy" Tatiana Sevyarynets. The reason for the UN Human Rights Committee was the decision of the district court of October Vitebsk year and a half ago, according to an activist who allegedly violated the law on mass events, for which he was punished with a fine of 20 basic units.
Summer 2011 will be remembered for many Belarusians shares of "Revolution through social networks", then the wave that swept the cities of the country. On July 3, the official "Independence Day", one of these stocks silent protest was held in Vitebsk. More than a hundred residents marched through the main streets, clapping her hands. Among them was Tatiana Sevyarynets. Then there was a common prayer for Belarus on Assumption Hill. A week later, the court held: Judge Eugene Burunov recognized Tatiana Sevyarynets organizer unauthorized marches and pulled her to administrative liability.
According to Mrs Tatiana, judge Burunov's decision is unfounded. No organized street procession, which we must ask permission from the authorities, the day was not. None of those who went to pray, do not go out into the street, not holding flags, posters and other campaign materials. Go well on the sidewalks, clapping and praying not prohibited by law.
Tatsyana Sevyarynets appealed the judge Burunov's decision, but neither the Vitebsk oblast, neither the Supreme Courts have not listened to the arguments of the activists. Now decide whether a violation of the rights guaranteed by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to attract her to account for the movement of people to the place of prayer, a prayer for herself and for the applause to the Human Rights Committee of the UN.
