Criminal case opened against former investigator for the violation of the secrecy of telephone conversations, reported in the management of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus in the Vitebsk region.

The case was opened under Part 2 st.203 Criminal Code of Belarus ("Violation of the privacy of correspondence, telephone conversations, telegraph and other communications"), the sanctions that penalize up to imprisonment for up to two years.

"Office of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus in the Vitebsk region opened a criminal case against two persons, including a former investigator Novopolotsk State Committee who illegally violate the secrecy of telephone and other communications of citizens, which resulted in the illegal without a need-to obtain and transfer to third parties the information about connections used a national call number", - informed the official representative of the SC in the Vitebsk region of Belarus Inna Gorbacheva.

More information for the investigation were not disclosed.
