The other day on the building of the railway station "Luchesa" in Vitebsk large Belarusian-sign was changed to a small "Luchesa". Plant workers say it was done by order of the authorities, who considered that the writing on the Belarusian unaesthetic.
Here's what the conversation was held in a "dialogue" with the employees of the railway station.
"Why have changed the sign?" - "Unsightly ..." - "But in fact, it was beautiful and in Belarusian" - "We do, too, but the authorities thought it was ugly. Had to change two days ago."
This has turned out "aesthetics" ...
That was then. Unaesthetic? .. (Photo by DFKD, panoramio.com ).
Railway bilingualism ...
Now, from the front and from the rear of the building hung Russian-language signs, with the ends - in Belarusian.
Through "Luchesa" go train at Orsha and Smolensk.
