Sergey Pashkovich was injured in the 16 years in training in junior sports school in Hłybokaje and for many months was confined to bed. Becoming a person with disabilities, he eventually was able to escape from the orphanage, to graduate and find a job.
– It was hard to accept the fact that now I cannot live like before – says the man – a very long time to come. In the summer I took away from Hłybokaje to the remote farm where I read a book, doing self-development, trying to do physical exercises. I was hard to live at home with my parents, because I was not busy with anything. Please help raise siblings, their four in our family, and then decided that it is necessary to look for the way of development.
And in 2005, twenty years after the injury, he decided to go to Viciebsk. They put me in a regular room in a boarding house for the elderly and disabled. There I met a wonderful man Stemasov Dima, who at that time was chairman of the Viciebsk society wheelchair. He was in a boarding house training courses on computer, which I gladly attended. I knew I wanted to learn more, get higher education. And in 2006, he entered the full-time department of the Faculty of Social Pedagogy and Psychology in MAD Masherov. Of course, I, unlike the rest of the students had a free visit. To me was assigned two volunteer girls who were taken from the teachers for me, reading lists, assignments, bring a book. We are engaged in the building on the street Chapaev, where there was no elevator. The boys, who studied at the Department of Physical Education, I was raised to the desired floor. Exams I rented individually.
In the second semester we had Latin. The teacher, a woman quite strict, insisted that I come to take the exam with the group. She did not want to separate me from the team. And that, on the one hand, it was the right decision. I remember how the exam learned as much as 70 quotes and sayings that have tried to insert it. So it was possible to show off your erudition.
University I graduated with honors and entered the magistracy. My supervisor, Sergey Leonidovich Bogomaz, helped me in every way. And I venture to apply to graduate school. But if the university take everyone who wants to do, then, for admission to graduate school need someone to vouch for me that I will be employed. Dima Stemasov once again came to the rescue, to vouch for me on behalf of the Society of wheelchair users. I tried to find a job at the university.
Now I am working as a laboratory assistant at half-time in our department, but in the future I hope to become a teacher. Yes, to get here, I had to go to the commission MEDC with honors and prove that I can work. I did it! Therefore, I believe that I will achieve, and instructor seats.
Today Sergei lives in a dorm room from ZhRET of Oktyabrsky district. Knock is the place turned out to be very difficult! But Sergei went to the commission in the executive committee and proved that he can live alone, that it does not need round the clock care, which is provided in a nursing home.

Of course, Frunze, 99 life was simpler – Sergei says – there were fed, cleaned, took care of me, social workers, nurses and orderlies. To have an elderly man who was left alone in a boarding house all conditions. But to me, a young, wanted to escape from there. It is very hard to live under control. Even for somewhere to absent himself, it was necessary to write a statement in the name of the administration. But in a dorm, I am my own master.

It helps him to remove the person, which is decorated on for wheelchair users care. A neighbor brings products. Recently they bought with Sergey for two washing machine. A man prepares right there in the room, in the microwave oven, because a communal kitchen there is difficult, there is an uncomfortable threshold. When Pashkovich only inhabited, he was given another room, where a block was the rotten floor, and from a single window frame (the second was broken) mercilessly barrel. But over time he was able to move to a better, and the entrance to the hostel is specially equipped with a ramp for him. So that you can live!

And if a man is going to start a family in the future? Sergey honestly replied that he does not seek at this point to marriage, it is quite comfortable to live alone. And then we will see. Women men's attention (in his words) is not deprived. Just now, he was more interested in working on his thesis "Coping strategies in the psychological adaptation of people with damage to the musculoskeletal system." Sergey already provides psychological help to people who due to injuries steel wheelchairs.
– I do not expect that society will have to help me, because I am wheelchair, – says Sergey. – I want in this life to achieve on their own.
