The traditional annual meeting of journalists in Viciebsk on 29 December in anti-café "7 Rooms", this year took place in a particularly inspiring atmosphere.
The reason for the good mood of participants of the meeting – not only in the fact that the master of the pen decided to get together in the midst of the holidays: Christians who adhere to the Gregorian calendar, continue to celebrate Christmas, and very soon – everyone's favorite New Year. Elated journalists of the region contributed to the news the other day came from Minsk: the Viciebsk branch of Belarusian Association of Journalists recognized as the best among all the regional offices at the end of 2015.
This summing up the outgoing year and plans for the coming year was dedicated to the first part of the celebration. A dozen people who made the biggest contribution to the victory of the branch were awarded symbolic gifts – they were handed a copy of the diploma obtained by the local community BAJ "For winning the contest for the best branch 2015".
Among the winners – and the authors of the materials created for the 20th anniversary of the Belarusian Association of Journalists on regional journalism, and members of the creative action with planting trees that took place in early November as part of a worldwide campaign in support of free journalism. "Everywhere these shares were held under the slogan" Stand Up for Journalism ", and only in Viciebsk – did not stand, and planted" – recounted the words of capital colleagues, said those at the awarding of the Viciebsk branch, Elena Stepanova.
Elena Stepanova itself, which has been leading the event, was also presented with a gift – as the best head of the branch. She received not like everyone else – a copy of the above-mentioned diplomas (since these copies she gave out), and a bunch of flowers, from the hands of one of the new members of the Viciebsk branch of Belarusian Association of Journalists. By the way, to the professional community of journalists in Viciebsk in 2015, joined by a few people – and now the local branch of the Belarusian Association of Journalists has 32 representatives, not only from the regional center, but also from the regions – Haradok, Biešankovičy.
Just Beshenkovichy journalist, poet and bard George Stankevich became the hero of the second part of the meeting. The audience watched a documentary about him, created by Elena Stepanova and videographer from Barysaŭ Alexander Zenkov – he also came to the meeting in Viciebsk. Then Mr. George played the guitar a few of their songs and gave wishing one of his books of poetry – wanting to get a book autographed by the author of the hands was more than he took with him copies.
