It has long been customary for the inhabitants of Vitebsk on Freedom Day, March 25 lay flowers at the memorial plaque in honor of Vasil Bykau and the monument to Vladimir Korotkevich.
This year, laying flowers held well: a dozen residents of the regional center gathered near the monument to Prince Algirdas, went to the Assumption Cathedral, where commemorated the victims of Stalin's repressions, the remains of which were found under the church walls during the restoration. And then laid flowers at the memorial plaque on the building of the former School of Art, where he studied Vasil Bykau, and the monument to Vladimir Korotkevich.
The entire route followed by those who have decided to celebrate in this way will have been Vitebsk police. At first they were a dozen finally left three - but not ordinary, and representatives of the regional department of the Ministry of Interior. Close the police did not fit - watched from afar, and at the very beginning removed all those present at the camera.
