A few days ago in Polotsk were arrested two members of the Hare Krishna community, which were drawn up on an administrative offense under Article 17.1 of "petty hooliganism". On January 15, the Central district court of Minsk one of the detainees was able to review the case file and write the petition is to postpone the trial in order to carry out in the near future. The administrative work of the second detainee was transferred to the court of Orsha district and the city of Orsha.
According to the defendants learned that being near the trading house in Polotsk, they offered to passers-by to talk and get acquainted with the literature. At this time, they were approached by a woman who introduced the administrator of the trading house and asked to move away from the building. Hare Krishna complied with the request, but after some time had been detained by police.
After keeping them unduly about six hours, without explaining the reasons for detention, their rights and duties, the police charge them with "hooliganism", including foul language in a public place. After drawing up reports on the application of the administration of the trading house Krishna community members were released and the case was sent to the courts for the place of their registration - in Minsk and Orsha.
