On June 14, a round table of the Public Platform "Dialogue" was held in Viciebsk. The meeting was organized by the Civil Accord movement, which appeared somehow suddenly out of nowhere, but has already held a similar meeting in Minsk.
At the capital's event, however, there were no real political antagonists. But in Viciebsk there were. The event was attended by representatives of the BPF, Communists from the "Fair World", the Social Democrats, representatives of the "Tell the Truth", "Russian House", "Our Home" movements, as well as members of the Union of Belarusian Writers, the Belarusian Union of Artists, the Union of Officers ... There was even Representative of the ideology department of the Viciebsk Oblast Executive Committee Valery Marchenko. "Similar sites that gather people representing different political opinions are necessary and useful. People need to communicate, "the official said and invited the attendees to participate in the work of the public council, which was established under the executive committee with the participation of parties and public associations. It's amazing that only now. As before, the regional executive committee did not know that there are not only pro-governmental parties and public associations in Viciebsk oblast, but also opposition parties.
The activists of "Tell the Truth" talked about the need for dialogue with all forces for the sake of peaceful changes in the country. Alexander Kuznetsov, a representative of the BPF party, also announced his party's readiness for dialogue, but noted that this primarily depends on the actions of the authorities. Supporters of the "Russian world" were concerned about attempts to destabilize the situation in the country...
The next similar event in early July will be held in Gomel. That's just not understand their meaning. The wide range of topics is incomprehensible, the ultimate goal is not clear, there is no authority or fame for the organizer of such discussions. While everything happens in the spirit: "They met, talked, did not fight..."
