"Free Region" is an informal association having the organizing committee for the creation of a full-fledged public association. Associates have created web page http://freeregion.info. Some of the materials placed there and caught the attention of the police, the founder of the site explains Vadim Drozdov (pictured).

Mr. Drozdov several years living in Switzerland, but said that police officers keen interest in his personality:

"I know what I was looking for the police - reported by residents of the neighboring apartment, which is next to the one where I used to live. Realizing that the interest of the police just does not arise, I asked relatives on my behalf to contact a lawyer. So way and found out that about me being tested."

According to Vadim Drozdov, which refers to the words of the lawyer, verification is carried out from the beginning of April. In particular, the officers noticed that the site, which is established by Vadim Drozdov, publish articles critical content.

"People send us for publication of this document, we also have a couple of blogs, where write -known personality in the region, in particular the "doctor - love-of-truth" Igor Postnov, which last year forcibly sent to "loony bin" after a series of critical statements... In the Belarusian criminal Code article 369-1 has "Discrediting the Republic of Belarus", and check how I know, just carried out to determine whether the content is not subject to some critical texts from our website under this article" - says Mr. Drozdov.

In addition, employees are checking Novopolotsk police department and in line with Article 193-1 of the criminal, which includes responsibility for activity on behalf of unregistered organization. In particular, says the founder of the site, it is about the article about the campaign on the anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy, which wanted to hold members of the organizing committee of the public association "Free region", and which was banned by local authorities. As well as an invitation for the cooperation of all concerned people who would like to try yourself as a lyricist for the website or volunteers of different companies human rights areas.

Test results are not yet known. If the police decide that the activities Vadim Drozdov has the offense and given the fact that the activist - a citizen of the Republic of Belarus against him may be initiated criminal proceedings under the Belarusian legislation.
