Total in the Vitebsk region 3218 seats in the regional, district, city, town and village councils claim 3453 candidates. Among them, 4.7% are citizens of 30 years (161 ) members of the current Parliament - 51.8 % ( 1778 ), women - 47% ( 1622 ) and three Russian citizens.

60 seats in the Vitebsk Regional Council claim 125 candidates. Competition for the parliamentary mandate was 2.1%. Competition for a place in the 21 District Council was 1.1% candidates per seat in the city council of regional subordination (Vitebsk, Novopolotsk) - 1.8%; regional subordination - 1.4%; rural councils - 1.0%; village councils - 1.1%.

From 110 political parties registered candidates for deputies of councils at all levels. The highest number of registered nominees Belarusian Left Party "Fair World", the Liberal Democratic Party, the United Civil Party, the Communist Party of Belarus.

Refusal of registration received 59 nominees. The main reasons were inaccuracies in the voters' signatures and false information in the tax returns.
