In Viciebsk and Vorša refusals to register received several potential candidates – representatives of democratic movements and opposition parties.
Candidate in Vitsebsk-Gorkavsky constituency #17 not registered representative of the campaign "Tell the truth", businessman Alexander Snarov. The announced reason – a large number of signatures invalid. Of the large number of people wishing to run in Vitsebsk Chkalovsky constituency #18 (applied for registration of 10 potential candidates) registered only 7 people.
Human rights activist Pavel Levinov, who was present at the procedure of registration of candidates, commented:
"It turns out that "are" mostly "necessary" candidates. For example, an entrepreneur Snarov found more than 26.8% of the collected signatures. He, like the overwhelming majority of the representatives of the democratic community, introduced more than a thousand signatures. But Mr. Zanko, head of the department medical University, presented as much 5 thousand signatures. And, imagine, there is no percentage of invalid signatures not found! All this raises serious doubts about the objectivity of such tests!"
However, for the refusal of registration had been announced, and other reasons. For example, a potential candidate Vladimir Kiyko, nominee of the Belarusian Popular Front party, was not registered in Viciebsk Oktyabrsky district №20, as the name of the company where he works, does not match the name in the state register. Another protege of the BPF, Vorša resident Vitaly Pavlov was not registered because they do not have shares of the company, in which really nothing invested. Another one Vorša resident, Igor Grishanov, representative of the campaign "Tell the truth" suddenly "discovered" an old car, a long-forgotten, and are therefore not specified in the document. Again, there were questions and the quality of the collected signatures.
Now those who are not registered as a candidate, to discuss human rights defenders the opportunity to challenge refusals.
