Scientist, founder human rights institution "Platform" Michael Zhamchuzhny, in a letter from prison reported that he had received a parcel with books Nobel laureate Svetlana Aleksievich.
This was reported by the human rights activist "Viasna" Tatsiana Ravyaka. In a letter she received, Zhamchuzhny writes:
"I was knocked out of the schedule unexpected parcel of our Nobel laureate with two of her works and inscriptions :-) I could not influence this process and a sign of attention, of course, I would have renounced all delicious the whole year :-)".
Tatiana Ravyaka said Zhamchuzhny put it figuratively – they say that he was willing to donate food parcels in order to get the book. As Ravyaka says, in fact under the current rules "does not replace one another."
According Ravyaka, political prisoner writes that his father signed the founder of the institution "Platform Innovation" Valeri Bondarenko was going to send him cigarettes and some food.
"I do not think one more would be replaced. But he says that this gift from Aleksievich, these books, he would not change no matter what food. I believe that someone sent him an autographed book Aleksievich. Titles of books and autographs in the content of the letter, he did not write", – explained Ravyaka.
The founder of the institution "Platform" Michael Zhamchuzhny, sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment in a strict regime, is serving a sentence in the IR-14 in Navasady. Human rights organizations have recognized its political prisoners in Belarus.
