The former candidate for President of the Republic of Belarus Tatiana Karatkevich and head of its election headquarters of Andrei Dmitriev met February 10 in Viciebsk activists of the campaign "Tell the Truth" and concerned citizens for peaceful change.
During the day, politicians have had two meetings with the Viciebsk public.
The first meeting was held in "The Wall" art center. There was a round table discussion on the current parliamentary elections. His thoughts about the important political events shared public figures Anatol Gnevko, Joseph Naumchik, party activists and potential candidates Lydia Sagidulina and Oleg Kvetinsky.
At the second meeting, which took place in the evening in the business center "Capital", the leaders of the campaign "Tell the Truth" a little late, but when they finally came to the crowd, the hall greeted them with applause.
His speech Tatiana Karatkevich start with an explanation of the position relative to the international policies that should guide the future conduct democratic Belarus. In our conditions, it should be the policy of "responsible neighborhood" that permits friendly relations with all neighboring countries. Including with the countries of the European Union. Only in the last two days, the politician met with representatives of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Germany and the UK. They all expressed great interest in the democratic development of Belarus.
However, as Karatkevich believes their attitude to the future of the country must first tell the Belarusians themselves. In her opinion, it is impossible to reduce all exclusively in geopolitics. The time has come when citizens must become a significant political factor. And any policy of sanctions, nor the IMF demands are not in a position to influence the authorities as a consolidated position of the company. Mobilizing the community contributes to, among other things, an ill-conceived policy of the authorities, which, instead of economic reform increases utility rates, introducing new taxes, reduced wages, solving economic problems at the expense of the impoverishment of the population. Introducing restrictive measures, the government forgets that they must be accompanied by social responsibility of the state to the people. Before you dismiss an employee, it is necessary to guarantee him a decent unemployment benefits and retraining reliable system.
Based on the situation prevailing in the country, Tatiana Karatkevich believed that Democratic candidates in the next parliamentary election campaign will be required to speak about the need for economic reform as well as their implementation will make it possible to look to the future with hope.
Andrey Dmitriev began his speech with a personal assessment of the events that are now taking place in the country. In particular, he noted that there are two Belarus. One where people live, who felt a slight deterioration in their situation. Felt, but not enough to feel uncomfortable when visiting the store or pharmacy. And these people are mostly – nomenclature. Paradoxically, it improves their well-being – at a time when the life of the overwhelming majority of Belarusians is getting worse.
However, there is another of Belarus, which is among the cheapest dumplings looking for those that are discounted. Belarus, lacking confidence in the future. However, in the Belarus there is one big problem – it is silent. She hoped that he would return a good leader who will provide high salary, that all will return. Such people should say that will not return anything. Even five years ago, they knew the power that the hard times will come, but nothing has been done to create a social safety net for those who lose their jobs. Where are crisis management, which should have been a year before the dismissal of women workers of KIM said that their company is not able to survive? Where reform plan, which should be involved? But along with these issues, there is another question: Why do the dismissed women are silent?
Today, the state gives us a promise: we do everything correctly – it means the economic crisis to blame yourself.
The question arises: What is the current situation we are able to change?
The first is to unite, to change and to speak. Not the fact that we have just heard, but it will contribute to the economic situation.
Second, to offer the public other options for action. Even today, you can still be reformed and saved part of the plants, despite the fact that the bureaucracy has the desire to bankrupt them, because they expect further privatization of one base unit.
And third, this year's elections will be held, which give us the opportunity to come out and say: "There is an answer to the question: Who, if not he or they?". We must finally realize that we are living just contrary to the policy that this government is now conducting. It is necessary to convince society that we know how to improve our well-being. It makes no sense to criticize Lukashenko person, you need to criticize the policy of the state, which leads to economic exhaustion. The policy, which states that the state is unable to provide citizens with the work. The policy, which agrees with the fact that fifty per cent of students receiving higher education, are not going to work in their specialty. As a country can be successful?
There are two ways to change the situation: the revolutionary and peace. The campaign "Tell the Truth" was defined – we are not in favor of revolution. The revolutionary path has no prospects. Our choice is forcing us to go to the parliamentary elections, to unite people around her, to show the public that there are people in the country with normal ideas.
"Even today, when certain monetary limits there are great financial opportunities. Imagine: only on the support of unprofitable enterprises power distinguishes four trillion rubles. And this at a time when there is no funding for the fund, which would create favorable conditions for small business. In our conditions, a transparent system of small grants to help people in different parts of Belarus to start a business, solve the problem of self-employment. But the main asset of Belarus – a skilled workforce. Around us many capable and talented people ", – Andrey Dmitriev said.
At the end of the meeting the policy respond to a series of questions posed by the audience. In general, the conversation was informative and touched on a variety of issues of socio-political life of the country. All of the content and spirit of conversation testified: changes in the country are long overdue.
