This was reported by the human rights activist Leanid Svetsik in response to his proposal to the chief of department of ideological work, Culture and Youth Affairs of Viciebsk City Executive Committee Natalia Shienok.

In his message sent to the Viciebsk city executive committee, Leonid Svetik offered to local authorities to restore historical justice and to become the initiator of the establishment in town for the memorial sign commemorating the repressed. As follows from the response received by the human rights activist, the authorities are not opposed to such a memorial sign has appeared, but it does not have the necessary funds.

Despite the fact that officials of the City Council showed no desire by initiating the establishment of a memorial sign, as proposed by them, Leonid Svetik, he appreciates their response. Since they announced their readiness to cooperate with civil society - to consider "under the current legislation" if there will be sponsorship.
