This practice took place in many cities in Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries. There are such examples in our country, for example, in the village of Holopenichi, Krupsk area.

The authorities motivate the refusal by the Belarusian legislation does not provide accommodation for one sign of modern and historical names as well as the fact that the buildings are different owners, and with them it is difficult to coordinate the placement of these signs. But the legislation does not directly prohibit their placement.

According to activist Yaroslav Bernikovich, the thing is that this initiative did not come from the government and from the public. Such cases have been in Hlybokaje and earlier. For example, if social activists installed a sign figure BPR – Duz-Duszeuski authorities the next day it was removed. But after a couple of years they have installed it themselves on the same building.

Bernikovich: "Any activity that is not initiated by the authorities, but it came from the community, they did not perceive. But sooner or later it will return to its rut, and it was done in the city. I hope that will be available soon and historical names of streets in the neighborhood Hlybokaje".

Activists say they do not intend to appeal the decision of the executive committee in the higher courts, but there are means available to promote the historical names of the population of the city. And I hope that after a while this issue can be solved.
