"All of us - Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians - should be aware of their responsibility for the preservation of the unique civilizational space, which is called - Holy Russia. And at the same time it does not mean the abolition of the idea of state sovereignty of the three Slavic countries," - said the head of the BOC Christmas message.
Patriarchal Exarch noted that the pursuit of peace, harmony and unity - the moral requirement of the person at all times. He also stressed that Orthodoxy today "remains the basis of national self-determination of the overwhelming majority of the population of the three Slavic countries - Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, which is experiencing the tragedy of the Civil War."
"In the context of the political disintegration of the Church for the people that make it up, there is a bonding Union. For an Orthodox person - a single spiritual space that is common to this part of Europe's cultural and civilizational code," - said the Primate of the BOC.
"Russia, Ukraine, Belarus - this is the Holy Russia", - said the Metropolitan Paul.
He wished all Orthodox "unfailing grace of God's help in further works to the glory of the Holy Orthodox Church, for the glory of our Fatherland, for the benefit and prosperity of the land on which we live, for the benefit of all our near and far."
