Belarus has developed a draft presidential decree which provides for the restriction sites selling electronic steam generators (electronic cigarettes) and liquids to them, and the prohibition of their sale to persons under 18 years of age. Such a response is received Viciebsk human rights activist Leonid Svetik from the Ministry of Commerce, which has addressed with an appropriate proposal.
In his speech Leonid Svetik noted that the current normative legal acts regulating the conduct of anti-smoking work in the Republic of Belarus does not fully correspond to modern realities. Legally prohibited from selling tobacco products to minors. However, the ban does not apply to so-called electronic steam generators (electronic cigarettes) and nicotine liquid, since they do not contain tobacco and, accordingly, does not apply to tobacco products.
It turns out that minors are free to buy and use electronic cigarette supplies and material to them. Meanwhile poisonous liquid with nicotine content, because they have a high concentration of the substance.
Leonid Svetik proposed to the Ministry of Commerce to initiate amendments to the current legislation that would restrict the sale of electronic steam generator and liquid nicotine refills to persons under 18 years of age.
In response, the Ministry of Commerce reported that the already drafted a decree of President of the Republic of Belarus, which will limit the points of sale of the above products and ban its sale to minors.
