Judicial board on criminal cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus in its decision of 15 January 2016 upheld the verdict of the Viciebsk Regional Court on 30 October 2015 concerning the 55-year-old driver from Tałačyn Dmitry Golubev, who was convicted of the murder of a senior state inspector Vorša Interdistrict Inspectorate of Protection flora and fauna Gennady Ravkov.
Thus, Golubev filed an appeal and cassation appeal of the public prosecutor the highest judicial body of the country dismissed.
As previously reported, Dmitry Golubev under paragraph 10 of Part 2 of Article 139 of the Criminal Code was sentenced to life imprisonment, and in Part 2 of Article 295 of the Criminal Code to three years in prison without confiscation of property. On the basis of Paragraph 4 of Article 72 of the Criminal Code on the totality of the crimes committed by the absorption of less severe punishment by more severe, the accused was appointed as an extraordinary measure of punishment – life imprisonment in the penal colony of special regime without confiscation of property.
Recall, April 11, 2015 Gennady Ravkov conducted monitoring activities to detect and prevent violations of environmental laws. Near the village Pietrašy, Tałačyn district saw a man with a hunting rifle, prepared for use. Senior state inspector stopped the hunter and asked him to submit the necessary documents for hunting. Between Ravkov and Golubev there was a conflict, which resulted in a detainee from hunting weapons inspector was injured in emphasis and soon died at the scene. After the incident Golubev left the scene of the crime and took steps to conceal the murder weapon.
