Chairman of the Central Election Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna has not responded to the proposal of the opposition and did not seek the leadership of the presidential administration and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. Now Viciebsk members of the Conservative Christian Party BPF seek contacts with observers and going to urge voters to boycott the "pseudo– election".
The activists of the CCP BPF asked Ms. Yermoshina pay attention to these authorities on the inadmissibility of restrictions on the rights of members of opposition party organizations in the political campaign for the presidential election, and to stop all kinds of discriminatory acts on the part of all structures "presidential vertical of power" in relation to political opponents of the existing political regime.
The reason for the CEC began another ban pickets Viciebsk officials. In accordance with the Law "On mass events in Belarus", 16 July and 10 August, a group of party activists to apply to the administration of the Railway district of Viciebsk. The statements of party activists asked for permission to hold pickets associated with the ongoing elections in the country. However, the deputy chairman of the district administration Natalya Lepeshkina holding of these public events banned.
According to political activists, Lepeshkina violated their right to freedom of expression and the right to participate in public affairs, such as elections. Moreover, opposition politicians believe that the official has intentionally discriminated against them on the grounds of belonging to an opposition party organization.
For more convincing party members reported honored lawyer of the country Mrs. Yermoshina, local authorities not only violated their constitutional rights, but also a number of articles of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. However, all their arguments did not lead to positive results. But the chairman of the CEC did not have to respond to the request of the citizens and voters and seek senior management executive authorities with a proposal to close examination of the vertical of executive power applications from citizens wishing to hold public events, even if they are citizens of the opposition politicians.
Maybe the CEC Chairman has refused to fulfill the request of Viciebsk opposition on the grounds that they wanted to show public criticism of the current political regime and its founder and mastermind of the presidential candidate Alexander Lukashenko?
The activists of the CCP BPF outraged discriminatory attitude of the Belarusian Central Election Commission and its head. They are puzzled by the fact that, often showing their desire for recognition of the presidential elections by the international community, Lydia M. nothing significant takes to her wish come true.
Opposition members say that as express their opinion about the elections through the pickets cynically forbidden by the authorities, they are now forced to seek contacts with national and international observers accredited in Viciebsk. They want to tell them that the real election campaign is unfair and discriminatory. They thought that they wanted to convey to observers: if during the election campaign is impossible to publicly criticize a particular candidate, the election cannot recognize the open, free and fair, the relevant European standards.
In this situation, the activists of the CCP BPF committed themselves: in every way possible to communicate to voters the idea of a total boycott of the event, which they call "the pseudo-election".
