Igor Postnov sent Yermoshina a letter on the eve of the official announcement of the election date. He said about the alleged ill-use of administrative resources and intimidation of members of his team from the local authorities – a few months earlier he had given prior consent to head the initiative group to nominate a candidate for president of the Vitebsk politician Sergei Ryzhov, who shortly afterwards was charged with a criminal offense and now He is serving his sentence in prison.

According Postnov, Alexander Lukashenko, who appoints and heads the government, his actions eliminate possible rivals in the elections, and this is nothing but a gross violation of the constitutional freedoms and the Electoral Code. In this connection, he believes Postnov, Alexander Lukashenko cannot run for president of the Republic of Belarus.
