In the first five months of 2016 33,954 people were laid off in the Viciebsk region, and hired – only 24,893 people, the difference amounted to 9061 people.

The largest number of layoffs was in April – then lost their jobs just 8426 people. However, the worst ratio between the employed and dismissed observed in March – at the 6833 laid off, work took only person 4452, which amounted to 65%.

The number of people employed in the economy of Viciebsk region decreased during this period 6,600 people – 514,300 in January to 507,300 people in May. This officially registered unemployed was 6,700, which is only 300 more than at the beginning of the year.

Thus, according to the Central Statistical Viciebsk management Unemployment in the region is 1.3% of the economically active population, or 0.1% more than in January.
