The program "Roads of Belarus" for 2006-2015 is implemented in the Vitebsk region only 40%. This was announced at a meeting of Executive Committee, which examined the program, Head of Transport and Communications Executive Committee Andrei Gulidin.

"Activities under the program are made by only 40% of the target. Since 2006, the region has built more than 4.4 thousand. Km of roads, mastered Br1,9 trillion", - stated the head of the department. According to him, the main constraint of the program is the lack of funding, because of which the volume of work from year to year was reduced. If in 2006, reconstructed and repaired 532 km of local roads and 965 meters of bridges, the last year - a 45 km long and 157 m, respectively.

"The growth in traffic and load on heavy vehicles and reduce road works were the main causes of the deteriorating condition of roads. Road works, which are held now, mainly supported by the current state of the roads. This situation does not allow them to meet international standards", - said Andrey Gulidin.
