Every year at the "Polymir" of JSC "Naftan" (Navapołacak) carried out the planned stops on the main production for repair. But this summer, as it turned out, not all went smoothly.

In the first half of June, stopping for scheduled repairs left the second stage production of "Polyethylene". In the shops of number 104, 105 and 106 were carried out cleaning, inspections, replacement of equipment. It was reported that, despite the reduction (in comparison with the previous year) personnel maintenance of production, the second stage of "polyethylene" should start to give the finished product in July.

However, in early July, the media reported that "Polymir" about a week going strong black smoke, and in the city there is a smell of burning chemicals. Representatives of this plant said that no accident had happened, and that it happens regularly when starting work after the overhaul.

What really happened on "Polymir" learned the other day from the publication of the newspaper "Herald Naftan". Plant manager Oleg Zhebin at a meeting with employees reported that in July and early August, the economic situation of the plant has changed for the worse. The reason – the "technological problems" at the start of the second stage of production plants "Polyethylene".

According to Oleg Zhebin, completed the investigation of the incidents, the persons involved in it, brought to administrative responsibility, and will be deprived of premiums to compensate for the damage caused.

Failure of the plant led to a decrease in production, lower profits and exports, increase in production costs (acquisition of an additional volume of raw materials and unscheduled equipment repairs).
