In Haradok to "Dozhinki" a monument "Taras on Parnassus." However, to the surprise of the locals 28 November monument dismantled.
Local site Haradok.info linked the disappearance of the monument to the struggle with the possible corruption of officials: that the price of the monument to 1 billion 200 million rubles someone seemed suspiciously high. "According to rumors, officials from the Treasury appealed to law enforcement agencies about the validity of the declared value of the monument and did not get the nod to transfer money to the author of the monument," - writes the site.

So now looks like a place where there was a monument. Haradok.info.
But apparently, the reason for the dismantling of the monument prosaic: officials simply refused to pay for the monument. Head of the Department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs Haradok executive committee Natalia Gamzyuk reported that the monument was in town for the contract of uncompensated use, and now it is time to return the monument to its owner - JSC "Foundry Yard".
Casting director and artistic enterprise "Foundry Yard" Nicholas Stolar confirmed: the monument is now actually on the premises. He was taken because officials simply did not pay for it: "Even when we did monument, and the chairman and deputy chairman of the executive committee called us and threatened us to have made the monument. We were asked to pay, and they answer us: "Pay what you are going through." We did monument: still a holiday. Taken monument in town, put it to the people met "Dozhinki".
"Initially we had a contract for the purchase of the monument - said Nikolai Stolar. - He concluded with the management of capital construction. Then the executive committee decided that UKS monument did not buy, and redeem the Department of Culture. Thrice extended the calculation of the project. So we drew up a contract for gratuitous use, so that the executive committee had time to prepare the documents and not to pick up a monument of town. Unfortunately, they did not bought, and the last letter of the executive committee was asked to pick up the monument. So we took."
Nicholas Stolar says that the company still has a contract with the management of capital construction, according to which the monument should redeem. "We can sue Gorodokski executive committee, but decided not to do it," - says Stolar. The director of "cast house" recalls that officials may still redeem monument for 1 billion 186 million rubles. It is possible that officials were not going to buy a monument - it might be necessary not to perpetuate the memory of the author of "Taras on Parnassus" Constantine Verenitsin, and as a backdrop for "Dazhynki".
