Residential building with 80-year history has ceased to exist. The fact that the Germans were not able to do three years of occupation and during the past 80 years, two weeks did the current city government. A house with thick brick walls fifteen days resisted construction equipment.

House №2, on Kalinin Street, pulled down slowly and with difficulty, meter by meter, floor by floor, until it does not leave a pile of debris. Other old houses were demolished in Vitebsk much faster in just a few days. Together with the old building was destroyed part of the city's history and the memory of the people who lived here. Among them were well-known artists Drama Theatre Kolas.

Instead of house to renovate and make it a part of the cultural heritage of Vitebsk, it just wiped off the map of the city. Kalinin Street, which conceived to be part of the museum quarter, lost one of its potentially interesting objects. Although, apparently, according to the customer and at the same time the demolition contractor, bed, broken at this point, will attract tourists much more.

Here so part of the street looked Kalinina in January 2010. On the left side there is still a square with a pneumatic post of the XIX century, which no longer exists. Right seen house №2, built in 1934, it too is gone.
