A meeting with media expert Pavlyuk Bykovskiy was organized by the Hłybokaje Department of the Belarusian Association of Journalists. Participation in it was received by journalists and public activists from Hłybokaje, Lepiel, Połacak and Brasłaŭ.
– The term "fake news" has appeared quite recently. In 2017, he introduced the well-known dictionary Collins Dictionary, – says the expert.
Bykovsky gives examples of several recent fakes, which were printed by Belarusian media: a fake about a policeman with a pistol in a bus, a fake for the search for a maniac in Minsk,
Also Pavlyuk Bykovsky told about a selection of the most high-profile fake news from the beginning of the 20th century from DW. One of the fronts of 2014, for example, is that Vladimir Putin at first said: "There were no Russian soldiers in the Crimea," and a few weeks later he said that there were Russian troops there to help people express their opinion. But during this time the Crimea has already become part of Russia.
According to Bykovsky, he has written about politics and politicians for many years, and noted that in politics there is something not to finish, to hint at something, to deceive, and so on. becomes a habit.
For example, an American journalist for two months of the election campaign of Donald Trump counted 560 false statements from him. Lied and others, but they did it more delicately. According to the media expert, Lukashenka can be caught in lies, but, for example, in 1994, it was easier to catch his lies, now it is more difficult. Now in his speech, most likely, will be understatement or hints. That is, he has long learned to speak so that it would be difficult to find a lie.
At the meeting there was talk about social networks, promotion of their materials in them. As Bykovsky notes, social networks "fold" the text that the user writes. If you look at the computer, it shows only ten lines, then it will be written: read on or look further.
It is well known that people rarely read what is there further. And even if this text is rather interesting, it is not a fact that it will want to read further, because it breaks off at random. But you can deliberately intrigue by breaking the text into paragraphs and lines so that the cliff is where you want it. Such a post will work and will interest the reader.
Pavlyuk Bykovsky spoke about how to draw attention to posts and his materials with the help of illustration and photography. I noticed how the photos work depending on what is captured on them and how often they appear in the accounts. Also introduced the audience with a free photo editor and images Pablo, which you can use when you need to quickly draw an image or photo quote.
According to the present, the meeting was interesting, productive and useful, because some of them even experienced fakes and trolls.
Viktor Stukov, head of the Połacak branch of the BAJ, an activist of the Independent Trade Union:
– In relation to us were created fake pages in social networks. And a fake email address, from which abusive information was distributed. Therefore, we are interested in experience and recommendations that can be applied in our conditions. We learned about the opportunities that can be done further to counter the spread of such information. There are opportunities to apply not only to the district police department with a statement of insult on the Internet, but also to the special department "K", which deals directly with such issues.

– I really liked how Pavlyuk Bykovsky told. It is immediately evident that this is a professional in his field. The conclusion is this: you have to be critical absolutely to any information, even one that may seem close to you, because you know well the source. But colleagues may be mistaken, take some fact that is not completely verified or seems to be true, but in fact it is a fake. There are many nuances. So it's interesting, it's food for thought.
