Contrary to long-standing tradition, the book "Jack 2" writer Pauline Kochetkova (Stepanenko) has decided to provide readers not in the capital, and not even in the regional or district center.
The presentation took place in the village Staŭry, Vorša district, on the estate of a friend of Pauline, the local activist Igor Grishanov, village head and avid collector of local attractions.
Of course, there have been proposals to arrange a presentation of the book in Minsk, somewhere in the cafe, as is usually done. But the idea seemed more attractive to do so in a friendly atmosphere, home-style, the author says:
"Especially I would like to do it in Vorša district. We talked about this with the local democratic leader Alexander Shutov, untimely deceased. It was even said that over time should be to establish a kind of informal literary festival – here on earth Karatkevich. And in general, do more to ensure that not only in the houses of culture were cultural phenomena. And let the product do not sounded somewhere in the libraries and in the open air, to this open-air sound free speech. After all, this is very lacking in Belarus! "
Polina Stepanenko is a Vorša citizen by birth, and a presentation in Staŭry, and she invited her friends of childhood. In the stories from the book "Jack 2" a lot of reflections related to Vorša, with childhood memories... then had the opportunity to live in Mahiloŭ, Homiel, study and work in Minsk.
The presentation was not accidentally turned Michas Skobla – writer, translator, whom Polina Stepanenko at one time studied at BSU Philology. Michas was leading the event, with performances and chairman of the Union of Belarusian Writers Boris Petrovich, and human rights activist Ales Bialiatski, a former director of the Museum of Maxim Bogdanovich, and director of the publishing house "Goliaths" Dmitry Vishnev.
Boris Petrovich, congratulating the author of a new book, noted that this literature, "where words closely, and spacious thoughts," as written by forcing the reader to reflect on the fact that the care and writer. Ales Bialiatski, which Polina Stepanenko met in the literary association "The Locals", as noted in the laconic author works, the desire to speak concisely and briefly about the most important:
"Literary work in general is very heavy. This poet can see in a dream or a poem inspired him to write for half an hour. A writer has to work every day, and the Belarusian writer's work even more difficult. As it is done not only for the sake of creative self-realization, and for the sake of ideas, in favor of his people, and it takes more mental strength."
During the presentation, there was much talk about the participation of creative individuals in the "current Belarusian idea" – the creation of works of art that are both examples of "beautiful writing", and literature impregnated with patriotism. Especially those Belarusian artists, whose creative activity occurs at the beginning of the 1990s – to "promising years for Belarus", by definition, Michas Skobla.
Director of the publishing house "Goliaths" Dmitry Vishnev said that the basis of design solutions of the collection – Sergey Degterenka picture, part of the triptych "Jack 2", presented by Polina Stepanenko. And the meaning of the term "nest", in his opinion, – a place where the future is accumulated, which appear on the descendants of the light. Therefore, the book "Jack 2" – a place where collected "eggs", that is to say, the fruit of literary activity, which should have a worthy sequel and be loved by readers.
The book includes the story "The Poet", written on the fate of Maxim Bogdanovich. Polina Stepanenko, in the opinion of fellow writers can be considered by this researcher poet's life – no wonder many years was given to work in the museum, created in memory of Bogdanovich and preservation of evidence about his life.
However, not much attention deserve and the stories collected under the same cover. An activist of the Belarusian Language Society Yuri Nagorny in his congratulatory speech, mentioned one of them:
"My mood today – as an association called" Aroma holiday story. " It is remarkable that in the Vorša region are such events. We annually celebrate the birthday of Vladimir Karatkevich, our countryman. However, this is not enough! In the regions, maybe even more than in the capital Minsk, need such cultural events such meeting."
It is too early to say whether there is a presentation of the book Polina Stepanenko beginning of a new literary tradition in Vorša, modeled korotkevichskih readings.
However, an attempt to arrange a celebration away from the noise of the capital is perhaps that everyone appreciated positively. Indeed, in the "field" has its advantages, and the absence of asphalt, streetlights along the village street and district heating is fully compensated by the fresh soup, potatoes with own garden of the estate owner, original exhibits his home "museum", which can be considered infinite. And most importantly – a friendly conversation, that in such simple terms are the most sincere.
