Wooden one-story house on the former street Cosmonauts (now the street name Karatkievič) appeared in the postwar 1946. Money for construction in the writer's parents were not, and they bought a house in the village and moved to Orsha. To date, the house has changed several owners who carefully preserved the memory of writer-countryman and would like to invite the courtyard of tourists and visitors.
Last boss Yuri Barabash, who died on February 2, was not direct descendants Karatkievič. Many years ago, he married a girl who looked after parents of the writer: during the war Raisa lost relatives and Karatkievič took her into their family.
Vladimir and Rice grew up together, and then she continued to live in this house, which became her mother. Raisa itself Barabash had died, and her husband until his last days in a very old age, courted "Karatkievič" house.
Now the further fate of the house is still unclear. To dispose of the estate are entitled relatives: Yuri Barabash has a daughter living in Ukraine, and close relatives of Vladimir Karatkievič - niece Elena Sinkevich. It often comes in Orsha on the celebrations devoted to his uncle, the brother of her mother.
However, in Orsha for several years, there are persistent rumors that the wooden buildings along the street Karatkievič want to demolish to build on the site "high-rise".
